Menikio Arbutus Honey: Authentic, bitter, therapeutic.

The Menikio Arbutus Honey comes from the nectar of the arbutus (Arbutus unedo) blossoms, a wild plant that thrives in mountainous areas with rich vegetation.

It is harvested late in the autumn and is immediately distinguished by its dark color, dense texture, and characteristically bitter taste.

The arbutus contains arbutin, a natural compound with strong antioxidant and detoxifying properties, known for its contribution to the function of the urinary system and liver.

Arbutus honey also has a low glycemic index, making it suitable for diabetics (with a doctor’s approval) or those following a balanced diet.

Honey Crystallization

Arbutus honey crystallizes very quickly, sometimes within just 1–2 months after harvesting. This trait is completely natural and a clear sign of authenticity. It can be returned to liquid form with gentle warming (bain-marie up to 40°C).
